University of Technology's 3rd Convocation Ceremony: Embracing Excellence & Recognizing Outstanding Achievements

The University of Technology recently organized its third convocation ceremony on 21st May 2023. The event took place at the Nirmal Surana Auditorium, located in the administrative headquarters of the university at Mansarovar.

The distinguished dignitaries who graced the ceremony as Guests of Honour included Dr. Montu Kumar Patel, President of the Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, Dr. P.C. Trivedi, former Vice-Chancellor of Jai Narain Vyas University in Jodhpur, Dr. M.P. Poonia, former Vice Chairman of AICTE, Sunil Sharma, Commissioner of College Education, Dr. H.C. Ganeshia, Chancellor of the World Hindi Literature Council and a legal expert, Chairman and Chancellor Prem Surana, Vice-Chairman Dr. Anshu Surana, and Vice-Chancellor Dr. V.N. Pradhan. They awarded Ph.D. degrees to 20 students and honored 35 students who achieved the highest scores in various disciplines with medals. Additionally, these students were also presented with dictionaries by Mehandipur Balaji.

Focusing on the education initiative according to industries, Chairman Prem Surana stated during the ceremony that the university has decided to establish a platform to provide industry-relevant technical and soft skills to unemployed and underemployed youth of the state. Despite the demographic advantage of a young population, the country has been unable to fully harness its potential. Keeping this in mind, the university has taken the decision to establish a center named “Samarth” (which translates to ‘competent’) to enhance the skills of the youth.

The newly launched Samarth Center will organize various programs annually, including communication skills, personality development, artificial intelligence in information technology, cybersecurity, machine learning, drone technology, Vedic mathematics, and more. Vice-Chairman Dr. Anshu Surana mentioned that in order to promote entrepreneurship and provide industry-relevant skills, the university has signed a memorandum of understanding with an international ed-tech company, Talent Edge, to run the BBA, BCA, and B.Tech programs. Furthermore, discussions are underway with G.A. Future Educare Private Limited, an NSDC-approved company, for diploma programs in ethics and Vedic mathematics.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as the students’ accomplishments were celebrated and their future prospects brightened. The University of Technology, with its commitment to social service and advancement in skill-based education, continues to empower its students, fostering their personal and professional growth.
