ANTI-RAGGING CELL

In conformity with Supreme Court judgements and directions, UGC guidelines and State Government Instructions, University of Technology, Vatika, Jaipur follows a ‘Zero-Tolerance policy’ towards ragging. Ragging is totally banned in the campus and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or helping ragging is liable to be punished as it is criminal offence. University of Technology, Jaipur ensures strict compliance of guidelines regarding prevention of Ragging.

The University is committed to building a ragging free environment by instilling the principles of democratic values, tolerance, empathy, compassion and sensitivity so that students become responsible citizens. The University has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee in accordance to the guidelines.

According to the UGC Regulation on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, depending on the nature and gravity of the guilt established by the Anti-Ragging Squad, those found guilty may be awarded one or more of the following punishments, namely;

  • Warning, writing apology letter
  • Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.
  • Withholding/ withdrawing scholarship/ fellowship and other benefits.
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/ examination or other evaluation process.
  • Withholding results.
  • Debarring from representing the University in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  • Suspension/ expulsion from the hostel.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Rustication from the University for period ranging from one to four semesters.
  • Expulsion from the University and consequent debarring from admission to any other University for a specified period.
