International Conference on Interdisciplinary Research (ICIR-2024) Commenced with Zeal and Enthusiasm

The International Conference on Interdisciplinary Research: Challenges and Opportunities (ICIR-2024) was organized at esteemed University of Technology premises in Jaipur, Rajasthan on 2nd March 2024. This much-awaited event has drawn together luminaries from various fields to explore the dynamic intersections of knowledge and innovation.

Interdisciplinary research refers to the integration of knowledge and methods from two or more disciplines to address a research question or problem. The goal of interdisciplinary research is to create a more comprehensive understanding of complex phenomena by drawing on diverse perspectives and expertise.

Despite many challenges, interdisciplinary research offers numerous benefits. It can lead to new insights and innovations that would not have been possible through traditional research approaches. It can also promote the development of new research methods and tools. Interdisciplinary research is essential for addressing complex problems that cannot be solved by a single discipline alone.

The conference explored the potential of interdisciplinary research, its challenges and opportunities, and how to build effective interdisciplinary research teams. The inaugural session commenced with a flurry of activities followed by the traditional Tilak ceremony and a warm welcome note. 

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Prem Surana, Chairman of Deepshikha Kala Sansthan, and Dr. V.N. Pradhan, Former President/Vice-Chancellor and Member of the Advisory Board of University of Technology, Jaipur as Chief Patron. Further, Dr. Anshu Surana, Chairperson, UOT and Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Rana, President/ Vice Chancellor, UOT was the Patron for the event. 

The ceremony was further adorned by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Professor of Practice and Pro Chancellor at Vijaybhoomi University, Mumbai, along with the Guest of Honor, Col. Prof. S.S. Sarangdevot, Vice Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth. Prof. (Dr.) Amit Goswami, renowned Quantum Physicist from the University of Oregon, USA, and other distinguished personalities also graced the occasion.

The keynote speakers, Dr. Shekhar Sharma, Head & Incharge of AAROGYAM Yoga & Naturopathy Centre, Jaipur, and Valentina R. Onisor, MD and Director of QAV/CQA, set the tone for the conference with their insightful addresses on the interdisciplinary nature of research and its inherent challenges and opportunities.

Following the inaugural session, attendees engaged in enriching technical sessions where research scholars presented papers, fostering discussions on varied topics. As Coordinators, Dr. Kamal Kishor Jangid, Controller of Examination at University of Technology, and Dr. Reenu Lulla, Director, DOC & Foreign Affairs, UOT extended a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions.

Prof. (Dr.) Anoop Sharma, Registrar of University of Technology, and Prof. (Dr.) Rohit Saraswat, Dean of Research, played pivotal roles as the Conference General Chair, ensuring the smooth conduct of proceedings.

As the day concluded, participants left with a sense of anticipation for the upcoming sessions, eager to delve deeper into the realms of interdisciplinary research. With its stellar lineup of speakers and diverse range of topics, ICIR-2024 emerged as a platform for collaborative learning and innovation in the ever-evolving landscape of academia.
