Foreign students and faculty members visited to attend the workshop on Research Methodology and Faculty Development Program

Research plays an important role in our life as it devises solutions to several problems that we might face in the future. Research forms an integral part at the college and university level also because it forms the base for solving several issues that are currently occurring in the world. Moreover, students can develop good research capabilities under the guidance and supervision of expert faculty that is not only experienced but is also updated with the latest changes, happening and events that are taking place across the globe. Considering these facts, recently, a group of foreign students and faculty members from abroad visited the University of Technology to attend the Workshop on Research Methodology and the Faculty Development Program.

Vice-Chairman, Dr. Anshu Surana Sir warmly welcomed all the foreign students and faculty members for the workshop and explained how such kinds of workshop and faculty development programs enhance the understanding level and the boosts knowledge of teachers. This helps them in undertaking quality research approach so that reliable outcomes can be obtained. The workshop was highly engaging as the students and foreign faculty members made a tour of different departments of the university especially the Department of Pharmacy and School of Engineering and Technology. The university staff explained how lectures are delivered to the students and how they tried to ensure that the students can receive both theoretical and practical knowledge about the topic. Thus foreign faculty members appreciated the efforts of our teachers and identified certain loopholes that can be overcome.

In addition to this, the guests also visited the School of Alternative Therapy where they benefited from the Meditation Therapy in the pyramid. After the therapy, all the visitors shared their experiences and views on how such activities can be stress relieving and improves the concentration level of the students as well as other individuals. Thus, meditation should form a crucial part of an individual’s routine schedule as it reduces anxiety level and promotes relaxation for better mental health. Furthermore, in the faculty development program, it was also discussed that an advanced teaching approach specifically in the case of international students should be adopted so that the global standards of higher education can be met.

In the end, Vice Chairman, Dr. Anshu Surana Sir gave a heartfelt thanks to all the foreign students, faculty members and the university staff for making the workshop a successful event. The workshop helped in recognizing newer avenues particularly in the field of Research Methodology and how reliable and trusted outcomes can be obtained through quality research. Further, the Faculty Development Program should be conducted regularly so that desired skills and knowledge can be gained to meet international standards in professional education.
